Mickey Mouse is inside the pawn shop, looking for some cotton to buy. A white towel made of cotton is for sale, but Mickey thinks the pawn shop is too expensive. He decides to get a second-hand cotton tree instead. When the shop owner isn't looking, he grabs it and runs out the door, saying "Nobody tries to rip off The Mouse!".
