The game of Go was invented in China by a sage king. It is said that the first version of it had no pieces or board. Instead, the 堯 Go board was none other than the 一 ground itself, and different colored lumps of 土 soil were used to represent the black or white pieces. Of course, hands were not used to move the pieces around, but instead each player would use their 儿 legs to move or change pieces.
